Betty Atwell is a creative at heart. Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Betty began her artistic endeavors at the age of 9 when she enrolled at the San Antonio Art Institute learning the basics of pottery, painting, sketching, and design. Betty went on to study at Stephens College, University of Incarnate Word, San Antonio Art Institute, and Southwest School of Art. While continuing to develop her technique, she was mentored by Joel Carrioro and Creightoin Michael at Anderson Ranch in Aspen, CO. Betty also studied under Bruno Andrade at the University of Texas in Corpus Christi. Her passion shifted towards interior design as she began to have multiple request to replicate her ability to use complex designs to create harmonious spaces. Betty's innate ability to transform living areas captured each client’s specific and unique personality. 

 

Betty's eclectic style has been expressed through interior and exterior design, jewelry design and manufacturing, acrylic paintings on plexiglass and canvas, furniture design and merchandise creation such accent pillows, tea towels, and dog beds. Her work has been acquired for use in both private and corporate collections, including the University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Whether it's on plexiglass, canvas, for a home, or a private collection, Betty finds a way to express creativity as she sees the whimsical beauty in everything.
